In 1894 Neil McNeil, built himself a mansion on a cliff overlooking Freshwater Bay. It was built almost entirely of jarrah. He called it "The Cliffe".

In 1984 it was classified by the National Trust. In 1992 it was included on the Register of the National Estate. I

n 1995 it was placed on the WA Register of Heritage Places. In 2008, Colin Barnett introduced a motion into the WA Parliament that lead The Cliffe to become the first ever heritage building in WA to be removed from the Heritage Register. In 2009 Peppermint Grove Shire issued a demolition licence.

But it is still standing. Come and help save it.
